"
Black Renaissance" is the Bay Area's longest
running news/interview show that focuses on issues of concern to the
African American community. Hosted by San Francisco based psychologist
and author Dr. Brenda Wade, it is one of the few programs in the Bay
Area specifically tailored to the needs and interests of the African
American Community. In addition to highlighting authors and celebrities
who are visiting the Bay Area, the program showcases upcoming local
events. It also profiles those in the community who are doing great
things, and making a difference. Topics addressed include housing,
politics, education, health, and the arts. Former guests have included
Oprah Winfrey, Danny Glover, Street Soldiers Founder Joe Marshall, the
Reverend Cecil Williams, rapper Chuck D, filmmaker Spike Lee, "The
Color Purple Stars" Jeannette Bayardelle, Stephanie St. James, Letoya
London, actress Terri Vaughn, and many others.
"Black Renaissance" runs every fourth Sunday at 8 a.m. on The CW
44cable12. The one-on-one interview format program airs throughout the
Northern part of California -- from as far South as Santa Cruz County
-- to as far North as Sonoma and the Napa Valley Wine Country, every
fourth Sunday.
