    Peter, Bjorn & John

Embarking upon their tenth year as a band, the Swedish trio Peter Bjorn & John have much to celebrate about. Ever since their 2006 international smash "Young Folks," which was featured everywhere from Gossip Girl to the motion picture "21," it has been one giant party for these indie luminaries, playing sold out shows across the globe and getting to schmooze with the hottest hit-makers like Kanye West and Mick Boogie. PB&J's latest album "Living Things" marks a dark departure from the band's signature breezy-pop sound, yet still retains their cheeky, left field approach, offering a potpourri of sparse electro beats, reverberating sneer, and tinkering synthesized melodies. During the San Francisco stop of their Birthday Tour, we got a chance to chat with these quirky Swedes about their ever-improving live show, off-the-wall music videos, and future plans.

    Official Bio:
Although they'd been together for almost a decade, Sweden's Peter Bjorn and John broke onto the world stage in 2007 with their internationally lauded album Writer's Block. The seemingly never ending success of first single "Young Folks" gave the band one of the biggest sleeper hits of the year. "Young Folks" was a global smash and saw the band perform to sold out venues across America and on a string of late night TV talk shows. It was also named 'Track Of The Year' by iTunes, popped up in dozens of movies and TV shows, and was covered in English, Spanish and Japanese. Writer's Block was packed full of equally enticing tunes, and songs like "Amsterdam" and "Let's Call It Off" helped make the album one of the most critically lauded of the year. It was with this success and critical acclaim that Europe's finest musical 3-piece released their new album Living Thing on Almost Gold Recordings/StarTime International on March 31st, 2009. Produced by the band (Peter Moren, Bjorn Yttling and John Eriksson to give them their full names) and Lars Mårtén in Stockholm, New York City and Los Angeles, Living Thing is an album of perfectly crafted gems that reflects the musical tastes, influences and personality of each individual member more than any previous PB+J album. First single "Nothing To Worry About" proved that these Swedes knack for creating perfectly crafted pop singles remains fully intact.
