Sam Witwer

Joining the cast of "Smallville" this season, Sam Witwer is familiar to television audiences from his role as Crashdown on the cult hit "Battlestar Galactica." Witwer plays Davis Bloome, a paramedic who will ultimately turn into one of DC Comics' most infamous villains, "Doomsday."

Witwer was born in Glenview, Illinois. He discovered his love for acting while in high school, participating in the drama and theater classes. He was also the lead singer of a high school band. Witwer attended the Julliard School of Drama before heading out to Los Angeles.

Witwer made his big screen debut in "The Mist," as Private Jessup. He is best known for his roles as Crashdown on the television series "Battlestar Galactica," and as Neil Perry on "Dexter." His other television credits include guest appearances on "Bones," "Star Trek: New Voyages," "Navy NCIS," "Dragnet," "Cold Case," "TAG" and "ER."

Next up for Witwer is his role in George Lucas' highly anticipated "Star Wars" video game, "The Force Unleashed." He provides the voice for the central character, which was also modeled after him. The video game debuts on September 16, 2008. Witwer resides in Los Angeles and is the lead singer of his band "The Crashtones."
