    ARTURO RIERA NAMED DIRECTOR OF SALES FOR THE CW 44 CABLE 12 (KBCW-TV)

    For Immediate Release November 12, 2008

    San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose - Arturo Riera has been named Director of Sales for The CW 44 Cable 12 (KBCW-TV), it was announced by Ron Longinotti, President and General Manager of CBS 5/The CW 44 Cable 12.  Riera will report to Longinotti.

    "Arturo has built a highly successful sales record for our on-line components and he has quite a track record in Bay Area television and new media prior to that," said Longinotti.

    "I am excited by the opportunity to continue to work with the staff at KBCW-TV whom I have come to respect and admire. While today's business challenges are great, so are the opportunities to succeed with a talented and committed team," said Riera

    Most recently, Riera served as Digital Advertising Sales Manager for KBCW-TV, and prior to that he was Local Sales Manager for KBWB-TV.  He was also Vice President of Product Development/Broadband for StarMedia Network, National Sales Manager and Local Sales Manager for KSOL/KZOL Radio, General Sales Manager for SportsChannel Pacific/Rainbow Sports Sales, General Sales Manager for Telemundo of Northern California, and an Account Executive at KVEA-TV, KPIX-TV, and KGO-TV.

    In August 2008, Riera was presented with an award for philanthropic leadership by Silicon Valley Arts and Business. In 2007, he also received the first award presented for the category of cultural contributions by the San Francisco Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

    Riera graduated from New York University with a degree in business.

    CBS 5 (http://www.cbs5.com) began in 1948 as the first television station in Northern California. The CW 44cable 12(http://www.kbcwtv.com) began in 1968 as the first UHF station in the Bay area. The two stations became a duopoly in 2002.
